Let Your Website Grow With You: A Refresh for Bee Hygge

As a business owner, your website is one of the most powerful tools you have but only if it reflects where you are now. Over time, your offers, style, and goals evolve. What worked a year ago might no longer support the direction you’re headed. That’s why your website should never be static, it should grow and adapt with your business.

That’s exactly what we set out to do when we partnered with Linda, owner of Bee Hygge, to refresh her website.

Shifting Focus, Realigning Content

Bee Hygge, a quilting business based in St. Louis, had undergone a natural shift. Linda, a talented maker and designer, was leaning more into custom work: creating heirloom baby quilts and other made-to-order keepsakes that bring comfort and joy. The site also supports a shop filled with ready-made products and promoted local pop-up events which was running hand-in-hand with the custom work. But as her business evolved, that part of the site no longer aligned with where she was putting her energy.

Rather than force a fit, we helped Linda realign her website with her new focus. Having previously constructed her Squarespace website, we jumped with with ease. We restructured her homepage and completely overhauled the Custom Work page to highlight the custom process and the personal nature of her work. Her messaging now better speaks to customers looking for something truly one-of-a-kind, a quilt created just for them or their loved ones.

Embracing Visual Storytelling

Linda also had a beautiful library of new imagery from recent projects. Images that not only showcased her craftsmanship but told a visual story of the care and creativity behind each quilt. These images deserved more than just a quick spot in a gallery. So we wove them into key touchpoints across the site: in service descriptions, in her custom quilt portfolio, and on the homepage. This gave visitors a clear sense of both the quality and emotional impact of Bee Hygge’s work.

Why Flexibility Matters

This project was a great reminder of something I always tell clients: your website should be flexible. Not just in design or platform (although we love that Squarespace makes updates smooth), but in its ability to respond to your business as it grows. That might mean:

  • Refocusing your content when your offerings change

  • Adding or removing features as your workflow evolves

  • Updating visuals to reflect new work or branding

  • Streamlining your messaging to better serve your audience

Whether you’re shifting to custom work like Linda or adding new services to your roster, your website should feel like an extension of the business you’re running today, not the one you launched three years ago.

So if your current site feels a little out of sync or if you’ve felt yourself hesitating to send people there, it might be time for a refresh.
